v  Board of Trustees:
The board of trustees has the final say on how school funds are
spent and therefore has a significant impact on the technology
integration.  South Texas I.S.D. is fortunate to have an extremely supportive board that is willing to put students first above anything else. Every decision that is made is for the benefit of the students and therefore makes every effort to improve the campus’ technology.
v  Superintendent:
The superintendent has a very good working relationship with the trustees and is able to communicate the needs of the district to them. This communication is also true for her collaboration with the principals and Technology Director. Together, they make sure to offer guidance for state and federal mandates, including the integration of the Technology Application TEKS.  The superintendent also recommends purchases and expenditures for software maintenance and other monetary matters to the school board.
v  Deputy Superintendent & Assistant Superintendent of Finance:
The Deputy Superintendent works directly under the superintendent. He handles all curriculum issues which also involves technology that is integrated into the school’s curriculum as well as training and teacher support. The Superintendent of Finance also assists with any technology issues as well as making sure that the funds are available to support the districts requests.
v  Public Relations Officer:
The Public Relations officer is available at all of the campuses and makes sure that whenever any cutting edge or new technology tool is being used that the community learns about it. She has great communication with the local newspapers as well as T.V. stations. Our students are always in the news when it comes to technology.
v  Administrator for Support Services:
The Administrator for Support Services makes sure that everything needed at the campus level is properly working and available. Access is provided by this administrator to all areas of the campuses.
v  Lead Librarian:
The Lead Librarian is an essential asset to our district. Our district library is a state of the art complex and is equipped with all of technology that our students or staff need. She is always available for support or help with any issues as well as allowing any of our district students or staff access to check out equipment such as laptops, computers, video equipment, or anything else that they may need.
v  Principals:
The principal at each of our five campuses is responsible for
direction of curriculum at his or her campus.  As a result, they are
in close communication and cooperation with the technology
director. The principal encourages the use of technology in the
classroom by modeling the behavior as well as specifically noting
technology integration during classroom observations.
v  Technology Director:
The technology director works in close contact with all of the principals and the assistant superintendent to ensure that the technology that is in
place is being properly utilized to enhance instruction while always
searching for ways to integrate new technology.  The technology
director provides support to teachers as well as administrators on
all aspects of technology integration.
v  Teachers:
The teachers are ultimately responsible for whether the
technology integration happens or not.  They must seek out and
utilize professional development that will benefit their lesson
preparation and impact the students which they teach.  In addition, they must
communicate with the technology director and principals so that
the administrators can support the critical work being done in the
classrooms.
v  Students:
The students of South Texas I.S.D. are responsible for learning and being the best that they can be.
