FINAL TOPIC

Throughout the course I have met several times with my site supervisor regarding this assignment as well as my action research plan. Unfortunately, she has been out of town for about a week and I have been unable to meet with her face to face. Her assistant has been talking to me on the phone, and also meeting with me. She also has been e-mailing my supervisor to keep her informed of my progress.

At our last meeting, we discussed narrowing my action research plan down. It was suggested that I focus on a topic that would interest me more. Thus, we talked about the possibility of focusing on the junior high students and families. The transition has always been an issue that people have mentioned to me and something that I wanted to address. For this reason, we agreed that the approach of singling in on the transition of elementary students to junior high and the effects of the students and parents was the best option. Furthermore, by addressing these issues beforehand, would alleviate problems that could arise in junior high and thus maximize success for students. Therefore, my action research plan is smoothing the transition from elementary to junior high for students and parents in order to achieve maximum success.
