After watching the news day after day regarding how students are affected by the negative side of technology, I felt that this issue must be addressed by our district. After researching our policies, I found out that our district does not have specific policy on bullying or internet safety, nor do we have training in place.
We, as educators seem to assume that we can teach our students and we can expect them to utilize all of the technological equipment available to them; however, we do not prepare them for the problems that they could face when they do use all of these tools. There are many dangers that lurk within the technological world and our children must be made aware of them, as well as how to protect themselves from them. I will indicate a needs assessment by indicating the disaggregated form to show the district and the school board that internet safety and cyberbullying issues are needing to be addressed by our school community as a whole. My supervisor and I decided that this would be a project that the entire district would benefit from. Therefore, my Action Research Project will be on internet safety and cyberbullying issues facing students.

The importance of this Compreshensive Action Research Report is significant in the way that it will have a powerful impact on the students, staff, and community. Furthermore, the professional growth that I have made and will continue to be making in the process is all part of our role as educators. Through this course, I have learned that professional development is important; however, sharing of your own work is probably more so. As leaders and lifelong learners, we never cease our passion for finding out new things and learning all that we can. That desire never ends. Therefore, the only way to keep learning, is to share our work and grow from that collaboration. My desire now is to learn from others' research as I complete my Action Research Project. Finally, I will share my project with other learners in hopes that it will benefit them and the community so that the process may continue.
